The nature of learning is effective when used properly

"She started closely observing the waiters taking orders, and noticed a obvious, but important pattern in their work.
The waiters were able to remember the orders to the last, small detail while they were still serving the table, but as soon as the customers had paid and left, they forgot it completely.
Your brain holds on to information and tasks that you have not yet finished. As soon as you are finished, you forget them, since nobody can possibly own the resources to hold on to every single piece of grocery list or finished work task.
The Zeigarnik effect is mostly known as an effective remover of earworms, but it can also be used in a more meaningful way.
If you work on a lengthy project or task, take a break at a point where you would really like to go on, and do something completely different.
Subconsciousness keeps on working and thinking about the task and finding ways to solve it.
Things will fall into place much easier than if you had just kept going without stopping."

Russian women connection!

"First off, you should be reminded of one simple and elegant fact: Russians are the scariest white people. Period. And Russian women are no exception.
Let me introduce you to the one thing that makes it so, so very hard to even get close to a Russian woman. I’m referring, of course, to what I call: ‘The Siberian Look’. It’s something like this:
Ice-cold - perfectly executed by one of my favorite actresses, Anna Kovalchuk
Imagine the scene. You’re in a bar, and you see a beautiful Russian girl on the other side of the room. You give her a timid smile, and she greets you with a raised eyebrow. You look down to your feet.
Strike one.
After fifteen minutes of hesitation, you finally summon up the courage. Chest out, you stride towards her. You glance at her to see how she reacts and your feet lock into place. This is the look that greets you:
Strike two.
You try to keep going, but every step is more difficult than the one before. A million questions tear through your mind. Her eyes, instead of a window to her soul, bare yours wide open. You feel the weight of her judgement upon you, the shame that you dare so intrude upon her space. She knows why you’re doing this. You can hide nothing from her.
…and before you know it, you’re walking back towards your friends. You didn’t even realize you turned around. You didn’t even make it to within two meters of her. The Siberian Look has claimed a new victim.
Strike three.
But honestly, there’s one other thing you need to know. For those lucky or skilled enough to tear down those crystal walls, you will find nothing but warmth, love and a passion so intense it will stun you. After all, you know what they say…
No smile is more genuine than a Russian smile…

Chinese culinary treats are good!

"Because those things you see steamed are usually made from rice flour as opposed to wheat flour. You could use rice flour to bake but they usually won’t turn out well as rice flour is pretty temperamental for baking. They become dry very quickly.
The Chinese have had ovens since time immemorial. The question is, where are you residing?
That is how you get your delicious plate of cha siew and roast chicken.
The very famous Peking duck is done in an oven too
An oven in Xinjiang baking bread. Made from wheat.
Peanut candy. A childhood love. The origin of these baked confections date back centuries.
Rice puff crackers. They are baked (sometimes fried). In the baking process, they expand and dry up quickly. That is why rice is not often used as a baking dough.
Moon cakes, the food of a rebellion. The dough is made from wheat.
Archaeology digs in South East Asia have revealed ovens (baking) and kilns (pottery) where enclaves of immigrants of Chinese once lived centuries ago. The last remaining dragon kiln in Singapore was recently brought back to life.
One of the main reasons why you may not see many oven baked goods is likely due to your locality.
China is a very big place with many differing cultures. Some include baking in their culinary art, some do not."

Wonton soup!

"Wontons, authentic Chinese wontons, if made correctly, have thin flour wrappers with stuffing inside, similar to dumplings but the wrappers are in a square shape, not round, and thinner than dumpling wrappers. They are usually boiled, and then served with clear broth or sauce.
So, wontons are not like macaronis.
Wontons are well stuffed. The stuffing is usually a mix of minced meat (pork or beef the most common, but other meat might also be used, even shrimps) and chopped vegetables like pak choi / Chinese cabbage, celery, mushrooms, shephed’s purse, leek, etc. It is not a “tiny bit” of meat. It is mixed so because we like it like way. The stuffing is enough to satisfy your bite and your taste. And the mix of meat and vegetables brings a great texture that is more sophisticated than pure meat.
See the pictures below. Does it look like a tiny bit to you?
There are another type of wontons in Guangdong (Canton) and Fujian (Fukian) that have only meat stuffing. And along the Yangtze River there is a variation of wonton called 小馄饨, literally “little wontons”, also made of meat only. They are usually smaller than the ones with mixed stuffing, but still, not a tiny bit! They are smaller because they are meant for breakfast, or a snack for occasions like the western high tea hour. You don’t count on them to fill up your stomach. It is about the taste. They are SUPPOSED to be delicate, not a chunk of steak.
Cantonese (so you might have this in Hong Kong too) also like to have several wontons with soup noodles, sided with slightly boiled pak choi and seaweed slices. Wontons with peeled shrimp and minced meat in the stuffing are unique of Cantonese cuisine.

Popular Europeans!

"If you can name ten European countries other than France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Spain, you already know Europe better than most people.
Let’s see if you can name this underrated country.

It’s in the Balkans.

Some of the finest beaches on the Mediterranean are located here.

The cities are small but ravishing.

Some of the most beautiful National Parks are present in this country.

Game of Thrones King’s Landing was shot here.

If you couldn’t figure it out, I am talking about the Republic of Croatia.
